Won tickets to this through Quickflix competition. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved being able to see the foreign scenery in all its roughness. The main character is like a McGiver in that he was able to build himself a suit that gets him out of sticky and dangerous situations. There were some scary parts and some comedy parts. Definitely watch this one! Its super outrageous and the soundtrack is awesome!

Quite a pleasant film that makes light of a potentially traumatic time in a young girl's life. Juno is an endearingly sharp-witted character, but beyond her the film is a tad shallow. excellent evening's viewing though.

"Labyrinth of the Fawn" as it should more correctly be titled is a true masterpiece of fantasy and hope all rolled into one. Wonderfully and craftily written and directed by the now famous Mexican, Guillermo del Toro, known for his dabbling in epic goth/horror films, Pan's has brought his imagination and extraordinary creativity to light as the story unfolds before you. Beware, you will need the tissue box for the end, but its well worth the visit to see a movie that has no essence of Disney and is truly something you will have never seen before. I wouldn't suggest it is a Children's film as I have seen it categorized sometimes as it can be quite horrific at times and a little confronting. If you liked this film you may also like The Chronicles of Narnia (but a little slower paced) and also the Lord of The Rings Trilogy. Also give Hellboy and for a bit of light horror entertainment Mimic a go (same director). Enjoy!!

This is an undeniably a great performance from Daniel Day Lewis as the utterly ruthless oil tycoon, Daniel Plainview. He has the best actor Oscar nomination and my money is on him walking off with it. He is mesmerising in the role – like a train wreck in slow motion, you just can’t take your eyes off him. I have some doubts as to whether the rest of the movie stacks up with the lashings of praise that have been bestowed on it. It seemed a tad long and yet still over ambitious in the grand scope of the story it is seeking to tell. Apart from Plainview none of the other characters are particularly well developed. The very few parts of the movie where Plainview is absent tend to drag. But these are small quibbles and on the whole this is a grand portrait of pathological greed and heartlessness, leading to madness and destruction. Very cheery stuff.

Heath Ledger...what can I say? His performance as The Joker is absolutely breathtaking. I couldn't take my eyes off him. The supporting cast were fantastic as well. Made my Top 5 Favourite Movie list!!
